Our selection in November is Mr. Putter and Tabby Ring the Bell by Cynthia Rylant. Our club will meet Thursday afternoon, November 30th from 4:00 – 5:00. The book begins on a crispy fall day as Mr. Putter collected apples. Tabby loved to attack the leaves while Mr. Putter raked when the doorbell suddenly rang. Mr. Putter reminisced fondly about how he missed school. Mr. Putter went next door to see Mrs. Teaberry and told her about an idea to visit the local school with her dog Zeke and Tabby the cat. The teacher whole-heartedly agreed for the animals to visit during show and tell but therein lay the problem. What tricks did Tabby perform besides sleeping and purring? What did Zeke do except gobble cakes, knock over water bowls on his head, and smile while being pet? Come in with a copy of your book. We’ll play games, have snacks, and discuss characters in the book, and have fun all around!
